8月3日に英治出版から『PUBLIC DIGITAL(パブリック・デジタル)――巨大な官僚制組織をシンプルで機敏なデジタル組織に変えるには​​』が出版されます。

本書は世界でも先進的な政府組織のデジタル変革の事例として知られている、イギリス政府のGovernment Digital Service（GDS）の立ち上げ期をリードした４人の著者によって書かれた巨大で官僚的な公共組織のデジタル変革に関する実践の書です。４人はその後、世界の公共組織のデジタル変革を支援するPublic Digitalを創業し、ロンドンを拠点にアメリカ、オーストラリア、ペルーなどで活動しています。

この度、著者の一人であるアンドリュー・グリーンウェイ氏が来日することになり、本書の監訳を行った武蔵野美術大学の岩嵜博論がモデレーターとなり、武蔵野美術大学ソーシャルクリエイティブ研究所主催のレクチャーとパネルディスカッションを開催することになりました。

レクチャーでは、グリーンウェイ氏に書籍の内容やGDSやPublic Digitalでの活動を紹介いただきます。パネルディスカッションでは、グリーウェイ氏に加え、日本の行政組織やインフラ企業においてデジタル変革を進める経済産業省の吉田泰己氏と大阪ガスの出光啓祐氏、そして東京大学公共政策大学院の青木尚美氏にもご登壇いただき、公共組織のデジタル変革についてディスカッションを行います。

PUBLIC DIGITAL – Digital Transformation for public organization

On August 3, Eiji Press will publish “PUBLIC DIGITAL — How to Transform Huge Bureaucratic Organizations into Simple and Agile Digital Organizations (original title: Digital Transformation at Scale: Why the Strategy Is Delivery)”.

The topic of the book is a digital transformation of huge, bureaucratic public organizations. This book was written by four authors who led the launch of the Government Digital Service (GDS) of the UK government, one of the world’s leading examples of digital transformation of government organizations. The authors founded Public Digital, which supports the digital transformation of public organizations around the world. They are based in London and work in the United States, Australia, Peru, and other countries.

One of the authors, Andrew Greenway, will be visiting Japan. Musashino Art University Research Center of Social Creative will invite Mr. Greenway for a lecture and panel discussion moderated by Hironori Iwasaki, a professor at Musashino Art University, who also supervised the translation of the book.

In the lecture, Mr. Greenway will introduce the contents of the book and his activities at GDS and Public Digital. In addition to Mr. Greenway, Naomi Aoki of the Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of Tokyo, Hiroki Yoshida of METI and Keisuke Idemitsu of Osaka Gas will join the panel discussion to introduce their activities and discuss the digital transformation of public organizations.
